Investment Analytics Internship program at Canterbury Consulting
The Investment Analyst Internship Program at Canterbury Consulting is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for the individual looking to gain experience with institutional investing and wealth management. At Canterbury Consulting, the Investment Analyst Intern will join in the investment success of foundations, endowments, and families by participating in asset allocation, manager selection, investment analytics, performance reporting, and investment execution.
This 6-month program is centered around the Investment Analytics team, working alongside analysts as they collaborate with senior investment consultants on the production of client deliverables such as performance reports, asset allocation studies, investment manager searches, and portfolio analyses. In addition, the Investment Analyst Intern will spend time with the Manager Research department and participate in the research and due diligence of the investment strategies that are a key component of our client’s success. Finally, the Investment Analyst Intern will participate in the implementation process for portfolios with our Operations team while working with custodians and managers on behalf of our clients.
By the end of the program, the Investment Analyst Intern will understand:
— different asset classes we recommend to our clients, as well as the investment strategies and vehicles used in portfolios
— Canterbury’s manager approval process and be familiar with approved managers – their strategies and benchmarks
— general money movement/rebalance process and gain exposure to tasks required to implement investment strategies
— basic functions of the applications used to serve our clients, including PARis, Morningstar Direct, and Bloomberg
— various analytics used in our performance reports and be able to explain the calculations and identify unexpected results

This is a paid internship opportunity consisting of a 6-month program at Canterbury Consulting’s Newport Beach office, with flexible hours designed around the participant’s scheduling requirements. In order to get the most out of the program, a successful Investment Analyst Intern will have the following characteristics:

— A high level of attention to detail and quality
— Strong analytical ability
— Completed or on-track to complete a four-year degree in Finance or closely related field

Compensation: $20.00 per hour
